Anxiety and Fear
Anxiety and fear. They are often used interchangeably, but they actually mean different things.
Anxiety happens when we anticipate something. For example, when preparing to give a speech, we start sweating or our hands shake.
Fear happens in the moment, like when we see a car coming towards us and we're afraid it might hit us.
Anxiety may take over your life. For instance, you may be unable to leave the house due to overwhelming feelings of fear or distress. In anticipation of going out, your breath becomes shorter, you begin to sweat, you can’t make decisions about what to wear, and you rehearse everything over in your mind.
